Bottle from the brewery, pretty old – expires this month. Very lively, it exploded from the bottle. The colour is quite orange, very cloudy with a frothy big white head.
Aroma has loads of herb, orange rind and even clove. This one almost smells like a tripel! Banana esters are there, but actually overtaken by the zest in the aroma.
The high carbonation interferes with the flavour here. There is a bitter pithy orange flavour mostly, slightly spicy. No real fruity flavours here, probably due to the huge amount of yeast in this old bottle.
The yeast has changed this bottle to more of a Belgian Witbier rather than a Weiss. But it’s still not a bad beer even after its expiry date. I’ll re-rate next release with a fresh bottle.

Not as bad as some of the reviews say, but not the greatest either. Sort of orangy murky appearance. Banana and cloves on the nose. malty tartness with a sort of chalky dry finish.

My first kiwi brew upon returning to New Zealand. Pours a deep honey gold, cloudy, with a hugely lively head that settles quickly into a thin cap leaving early lace. Big spicy yeast and banana aroma. Wheaty, yeasty and spicy with a little toast. Finish is slightly tart. I’m surprised at the shit-kicking this one takes in the ratings-- I liked it.

Bottle. Down boy! A gusher of Krakatoa proportions!! Looks like I’m not the only one. Poors a very ugly murky orange. Full of corn DMS in the aroma, though there is come citrus and spice. Drinks better than it looked or smelled. Tartish, with more malt than wheat on the palate. Finish is a bit sickly sweet though.

Damn bottle exploded upon opening, didn’t lose too much though. A murky yellow/brown colour was what was left. Aromas of citrus and banana, slightly metallic. Floral/grassy hops. Malt and wheat. Banana flavours, very basic but refreshing. Toffee malt, isn’t too sweet and there’s some pleasant bitterness. Palate is kind of dominated by a sweaty yeast.

Bottle. gusher - Lost most of it across the bar, Just as well its outdoors! Left it for about 30mins to settle before trying. Very average beer what was left. mild banana, clove aroma. not a very good impression for brewery or brewer.

Bottle@Whisky Bar & Cafe, Oamaru, New Zealand. Golden beer with a strong head. The aroma is nicely banana and the flavour is weakly citric and mildly dry. Overall a plain wheat beer in the end.
