Cask-conditioned at the Royal Oak, Bath 16/07/09. Deep brown in colour with reddish undertones and a slight, off-white head. Aroma of bitter chocolate and raosted malts. Flavour had a big, chunky cereal edge, more chocolate and some dark fruit, leading to a decent bitter finish. Very good.

A Sim rate (gravity cask at White Horse, Hedgerley): Chocolate, bitter,caramel, bread and pastry aroma. It’s wintery fun. Flavour of gravy and hearty pie. It’s a meal in a beer! Very porter-like. I really enjoyed this one.
