kidmartinek (731), austin, Texas, USA Sep 4, 2008 Pours amber with a 1 inch head that settles to 3/8" of frothiness. Aroma is mostly malty with a tinge of hops. The beer is very clear and has almost no bubbles. Flavor is of limestone, mineral water, bread, malt and dough. Taste is earthy and agreeable. Texture is medium erring on the thick side. Finish is malty and a bit metallic? tgncc (295), Bellmore, New York, USA Aug 30, 2008 Aroma is malty, grainy, sort of like being in a silo. Appearance is somewhat pleasing, an amber color, weak white foam head. Flavor is weak malyness, with a slight amount of hops. The finish was ok, a definite hop bite at the end. Weak beer in many ways. I hope beer doesn’t taste like tis across the board if everyone goes with organic farming.. DrDavid (319), Johnson, Vermont, USA Aug 30, 2008 (Bottle). Not much aroma. What there is hints of caramel. Nice clear copper color, with a small light tan head. Flavor? Well there is some, but not a very pleasant mix of grasses and I suppose something meant to be malts. Primarily a metallic scrape to the palate. I am trying to be fair here. WickerBrew (278), Chicago, Illinois, USA Aug 25, 2008 I think the good feelings of drinking organic are countered by the bad ones of having an AB product. This is just super watery for a good pale ale. I would like to say thats due to the organicness, but i have a feeling its not. Not terrible stuff, but its all marketing hooey. People who buy pale ales dont need to have the style explained to them on the bottle like that. bitbucket (1565), Kirkland, Washington, USA Aug 18, 2008 Bottle. Pours clear light amber with a lacy off-white head. Thin aroma of caramel. Thin, watery body and medium carbonation. Just a trace of malt sweetness in the taste. Crisp and moderately earthy bitter finish, due to the lack of body to moderate the bitterness. Lacks anything that might vaguely resemble complexity. APA-Lite?
