This was the only option while England was taking it to Sweden in the World Cup. Seems like this is a bitter made to resemble a belgian brew, as it’s got a bit of spicy, herbal hop flavor to it along with a good deal of yeast presence. There’s something incredibly sour in it, though, that made it nearly undrinkable for me. Glad I held back for only a half-pint. MesandSim (5940), London, Greater London, England

Sparkling copper body with a very short-lived white head that managed a little legs. Biscuity sweet nose. In the mouth it’s very similar with toffee, salted nuts and toasted malt predominant over a light earthy hop note that sits in the very recess of the mouth. Dries out in the back end with a very gentle bitter apex before all malt in the swallow and a light residual sweetness that lingers long afterwards. Completely still, light bodied but relatively smooth, it could get quite heavy after a few pints so I’d say one was enough. Not bad at all. bluevegie (2217), Perth, Australia
