Pint, off pump. Dark, reddish amber, fairly thick consistency. Heavy white head. Fruity, rich hoppy notes in the aroma. Slightly bitter hops in the taste, with a nice mild bitter finish. Quite creamy. Very nice..

The Mill Banbury 22-03-06. Amber brown beer with very small head. Pleasantly malty and despite some lingering sweetness this is actually a very well balanced beer with some bitterness and hops. Despite it’s ABV being a bit pokey for a session beer I tucked away four of these and really enjoyed them it was in fact served and kept extremely well.

A dark amber brown beer with a thickish white head. A light malty nose with a hint of fruit. Fairly full bodied, the taste also has a sweet malty flavour and the fruity note again. The aftertaste is smooth and slightly bitter sweet.

Cask@many places. To be fair this is quite good. Some sweet caramel, and some relatively fruity hops. A little sweet, but quite drinkable. Funny, this is actually closer to an IPA than their IPA is.

Cask at the Swan, Bromham, Bedfordshire. Mid amber with a small off-white head. A very distinctive raspberry fruit aroma with some malt. Spicy, grassy taste, a little sourness and the merest hint of bitterness.

Cask at The Anchor, Cambridge. Good amber appearance, with a small head. Slightly cloudy at the top. Fruit and hops aroma, with a lovely caramel flavour. This has long been one of my favouirte ales.

Pint pulled from The Railway in Putney (London), an amber brown with a light rocky head. A flowery aroma, with hints of honey. A sourness in the flavour with a smoky aftertaste.
