| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Dec 28, 2008 Bottled. This is not nearly as good as the cask version; it definitely tastes pasteurised. The flavours are less fruity than the cask version also; here it is caramel and vanilla. Too strong to be a session beer anyway, after three bottles of this I was enjoying it less than the first one. | 1.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 3/10 | 2/5 | 2/10 | 2/5 | 4/20 | Dec 27, 2008 Not a very impressive beer. Light coloured, rather like amber in fact. There is just something rather unpleasant about Abbot Ale. Leaves an unpleasant aftertaste. altacyr (144), Campinas, Brazil
