Can. Pours amber with a white head. Sweetish malt aroma, with a bit of a sour tinge. The flavor is weird sourish blah. Not good.

Can o abbot ale, picture a Canadian accent with that one. Amber body with an off white head. Malt a bit nutty, a hint of pils and lager notes. Lightly hoppy and bittering with some grassy notes. decent.

On-nitro at The Daily Pint. Pours amber with a super creamy offwhite head, sheet lace. Smells mellow and malty, kind of musty like wet wood, sugary. Tastes about the same, sweet and malty, wet wood again. Easy drinking for sure. Sweet. Medium body, smooth carbonation.

50 cl bottle, unfortunately transparent (as many other beers by this brand) and on the supermarket shelf for XX(??) time. Shining amber beer, with golden reflections. In my "tasting glass" it pours a nice white thick head, that anyway lasts not long. Light fresh sweetness aroma, where malty notes stand out a little bit over erbaceous and citrous fruity notes. The initial sweet flavor comes with a noticeable frizzyness and a bitter and citric finish. Medium body. Drinkable and better than I expect from a beer in a big supermarket (in Italy...)

Drank this from a pint glass on 12/30/07 at The Shaespeare Head Pubin London. A nice amber color with a 1 finer tan head. Hops, hay, grass to the nose. Toasted malt, grass and bitters at first taste. Finishes with more of the same. A nice hand pulled palate. The name of this beer lead me to believe it would be more like a trappist...the whole abbot thing, ya know? It’s just a basic bitter.

Bottle.Strange aroma upon opening.Clear bottle and slightly bitter. Nothing really going for it. Many years ago this was one of my favourite beers. Why?
