A nice amber color with a 1 finer tan head. Hops, hay, grass to the nose. Toasted malt, grass and bitters at first taste. Finishes with more of the same. A nice hand pulled palate. The name of this beer lead me to believe it would be more like a trappist...the whole abbot thing, ya know? It’s just a basic bitter. johndoughty (2168), cheslyn hay, West Midlands, England

| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 2/5 | 14/20 | Sep 14, 2008 An aroma which isn’t too flowery but with a hint of bitterness and caramel leads into the surprisingly bitter flavor. Well-balanced - but nothing extra ordinary.
