Bottled. An amber coloured beer with a ruby hue and no head. The aroma is fruity malty with marmalade hoppy notes. A pretty decent nose, and that carries forward into the taste which also has nice full fruity flavours. There are signs of the pasteurization with a little boiled sweet note, bit it’s a nice beer in the bottle; certainly better than expected.

This ESB/Bitter pours a deep brown color from a 50cl bottle. Small sized white foamy head, that quickly diminishes with little to no lacing. Aroma is caramel, nutty and a touch musty. A light to medium bodied ESB/Bitter. The malts are caramel, toffee and slightly nutty. The hops are earthy and a touch floral. Good balance. Kind of the typical ESB/Bitter we get over here, kind of bland, but drinkable, and one that you could drink a lot of over an evening of dart, cards or talk. Nice carbonation. Decent balance. Mouthfeel is a full. Finish is dry, crisp and clean. Aftertaste is crisp and slightly bitter.

Pine can with total widget action. A lot sweeter than I had imagined. Marischino cherry sweetness and corn syrup on the nose. Light grains. Pours clear orange with a creamy white head. Mildly bitter. Creamy on the tongue. Sugary sweet, buttery with watery grains. Finishes with some hop bitterness.

On tap at Hobgoblin in Tokyo. Nice reddish color with a thick white head. Taste is creamy and kinda strange. Not bad, but very sweet in an odd sort of way. Very nice.

A nice head and a lovely full aroma. The flavour is nicely balanced with notes of flowers, yeast and spice, and the bitterness is perfect for the finish. OK, but far form Belgium.. This is an early rating from 2004, should be rated again some day.

Appearance: orange amber color. Medium head, beige, medium persistency. Aroma: Candy malts; dry-fruit’s and toffee reminiscences. Fruit’s smells like ripe peaches, and candy oranges. Taste: sweet start from caramel malts with toffee, butterscotch, ice-cream and sponge-cake reminiscences. Very nutty. Fruitiness like stone peach, peel red apple and candy oranges. Light to medium dry-hoppy finish, with some herbal and resinous touches. Malty and nutty aftertaste. Some warming. Palate: light to medium body, medium carbonation. Nice nutty, malty and butterscotch touch.
