The aroma starts off with wood and malt, then evolves to an exciting fruit salad profile of pear, apricot and pomegranate. The palate is too smooth for it’s own good, lacquering a couple potential rough spots that would have provided extra dimensions to this experience. Rather, the flavour begins watery, swells with some fruit towards the middle and closes with a woody bitter finish. Good, but could have been better. Allen (1365), Switzerland

Fairly sweet with very good notes of caramel. Some orange taste. Quite yeasty. Not exceedingly tasty. Smooth ale. Additional comment: Indeed. All in all a good beer; Rather pleasant. Clear, brown orange body with a medium-lasting foamy light tan head. Same doughy yeast rounded out with beery earth. Medium body. Comes together but better with pub food than on it’s own. | 2.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 10/20 | Feb 24, 2007 Dark golden colour with a long fizzy white head. Butterscotch and caramel in the nose - sweet with just a touch of leafy hops. The body is smooth and mildly bitter in the middle. Caramel follows the nose into the middle - overall just a little too sweet and too smooth - creamy. KingofCastle (202), London, Ontario, Canada

Nice to have quaffable, gulpable bitter, talk about easy drinking - is there such a thing as a light ale? For hardcore ESB fans this might sacrafice a little body for drinkability. Brownish/red colour, with nutty, fruity under tones. Orange is pronounced. Not so much malty, more thin (suprisingly). Slightly hoppy bitter mouthfeel & round out the body & finish nicely. This scores big on drinkability, amazing. But I’ll still take the malts of Fuller’s London Pride any day over this. Poperinge (359), Cowtown, Alberta, Canada

Light floral nose with a bit of nuttiness and a hint of bitterness. Would like to have on cask someday and I did and it sucked.
