500ml can - pours a clear amber shade with a smallish off-white head. Sour bread and malt in the aroma, along with some dark fruit. Somewhat reminiscent of a Belgian Abbey Ale in that respect, but typically English otherwise. Flavour is fruity and lightly bitter, along with caramel malt notes. Fairly nutty and bready. The bitterness comes more in the middle rather than the finish, though there is some lingering bitterness in the aftertaste. This is decent and certainily above average, but it’s not something I’d regularly drink. I’ve had much better ESB’s, though the minimal carbonation on this one is nice.

Clear orange coloured with a white head. Aroma of malts and caramel with fruity and metallic notes. Flavour of caramel, fruits and hops. Light hoppy finish.

Can. Pours a nice amber color, not much of a head. Some bitterness. The caramel malts in the flavor are a bit too dominant.

Can from the LCBO. Slightly dark amber body with a moderate creamy beige head that slowly fades. Very bready malt aroma. Light fruitiness, and strong doughy grainy character. Pleasant mild bitterness, light earthy notes. Average palate is quite smooth. Definitely a session brew, but lacks the strength of flavour for more.

Can. Pours an amber-copper translucent body with a small white frothy head. The aroma has some spicy hops, first and foremost, followed by faint fruitiness and doughy bread. Drinkable yet decidedly bland. Low carbonation with moderate bitterness and lots of doughy bread flavour. Some lemon-esque notes are also present towards the finish.
Purchased at the LCBO on January 13, 2006.

Can 500 ml from LCBO, Canada
Good pour, light brown with hints of copper under light. Medium creamy top with average life span.
Sweet malts mixed with fresh aromatic hay like hops, followed by nutty and honey touches.
Medium bodied, characteristically herbal (mint), green hoppy front. Light earthy/nutty character at finish. Not as well rounded as some bitter ales I had in past. Small step above average ale.

Slight head, pours light reddish brown. Carmely malt aroma. Tastes sweet, carmel, roasted malt, a hint of yeast. Pleasant, light hoppiness provides a nice balance. Pretty good. Mouthfeel is kind of thin, not enough texture.

This beer pours a deep orange with a medium tan head. This beer has much the flavor of your typical esb... Not much to say, this is a decent beer but not anything to brag about. I am not a big fan of the esb’s other than the fullers. Cheers!
