Brown with a beige head, fully diminishing, no lacings. Aroma moderate malty (caramel) and hoppy. Flavor moderate sweet and bitter. Light/medium body, soft carbonated. A fine bitterness. eaglefan538 (2383), Wilmington, Delaware, USA

The aroma actually led me to believe I would like it, but the flavoring was weak and had some fruity stuff going on. Gethinbeer (1003), Nova Scotia, Canada

Good copper appearance, clear with slight head that sticks to the glass. Sweet flavour, almost a syrup after taste with medium carb. Feels thick on the palette, but overall a very good beer. | 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | May 22, 2006 Light amber with carbonation that goes to the bottom of the glass and slowly rises to form a medium pale yellow head. Aroma of hops and caramel with citrus notes. Malty-citrus flavor, but not enough bitterness in the finish, however more appears as it warms. D (546), Poland

Good taste, slightly fruity with nut and caramel notes with only very little bitterness at the end. Quite mild, but defnitely worth trying anyway. GonZoBeeR (2162), ste-Eulalie, Quebec, Canada

| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | May 9, 2006 An above-average and sessionable English bottled bitter but it’s a poor relation to the cask version. Pale copper colour with a loose 2cm head that sagged into the glass but laced fairly well. The crystal malt comes through strongly in the aroma. There’s a mix of toffee, pepper, lemon and a bit of Belgian-style yeastiness. Unfortunately, it also shows that pasteurised boiled lolly stink. Typical skinny bottled bitter body. Nice soft carbonation. Toffee dominates a sweet, malt-driven flavour mix with some licorice root and late peppery bite in the swallow. In fact, the finish verges on astringent. Bloody pasteurisation. Another decent beer spoiled. (500ml bottle from some dodgy bottlo in Noosa, bb 28/10/06)
