Fruity auroma with a beautiful pour. Nothing special here, but it’s beer, and that’s good enough for me.

440ml nitro can. Huge creamy head on amber beer. Mild aroma. Creamy with malt and caramel flavors and a light bitterness at the finish. Fairly good. Similar to the other Greene King brews, but better balance than most of the others.

Bottle from Tesco’s poured with a fairly good head and glorious autumn sunset colour. Aroma began with banana and then delivered burnt caramel. I thought the malty, sweet, sour taste was delicious, and the bitterness at the finish was just right. Pretty good bitter.

Bottled from Sainsburys. Has kept a crumb of the cask’s biscuity finish but somehow lost the body and feel that I re-rated the cask with recently - thin feeling in the mouth, a little sweaty, not inspiring.

Pint can. Not my style. Tasted flat and was almost painful. I knew things would go downhill when I saw how creamy it looked.

Pint can. Golden with a big, creamy white head. A rich, creamy mouthfeel. Taste is a little like sourdough with a english hops coming in for the finish.

Pours a beautiful dark and gold. Hops and malt are dominant on a velvety palate. The bitter enters late in the game, but scores the winning touchdown. This is a good beer that I revisit every once in a while.

Bottle Dark amber, champagne bubbes, low foamy lacing amber head. Fresh English hops and biquit malt. Light bisquit malt body with a nice whiff of hops (citrus, pine, dust). One of the better bottled ales.
