Pours a beautiful dark and gold. Hops and malt are dominant on a velvety palate. The bitter enters late in the game, but scores the winning touchdown. This is a good beer that I revisit every once in a while.

Bottle Dark amber, champagne bubbes, low foamy lacing amber head. Fresh English hops and biquit malt. Light bisquit malt body with a nice whiff of hops (citrus, pine, dust). One of the better bottled ales.

Bottled. Copper coloured, big white foamy head. Fruity bitter aroma. Bitter fruity flavour with sweetish finish. Makes mouth a bit sticky. Local pub (Public Corner) seems to enjoy taking in British bitters...

Dark amber colour. Tobacco nose. Bitter hoppy flavour. Thick sparkling head. Acidic citrus taste. A little sweetness. Segments of dark chocolate. Bitter palate. Medium bodied.

Compare to Old Speckled Hen but with less yeast and a touch more hops. Compare to Wexford but with less maltiness and a touch more hops. Compare to Tetly’s and Boddington’s but with more flavor period. Awesome pub beer with a great mouth feel. Get on tap or in a nitrogen can.

Nitro can. orange/ copper with a creamy white head. classic English bitter aroma...sweet grainy malt, a little thin on the palate, lightly hopped. not bad, not great either.

needs Costello. Hop bubbles, too simplic, bitter and in fact weak taste. Maybe this works fresh and cask-conditioned, but was difficult to finish. Hard to get in Canada, Joey was my guide at Chesters.

Bottle, Sainsburys. Horrible boiled bitter, the cask version is far superior. This is horrible.
