| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 5/5 | 15/20 | Mar 6, 2005 Pour from widget can is attractive cascade from beige foam into light coppery body. Smells of cask, hint of grapes. Tastes same, with astringent dry finish. Mouthfeel is rich and creamy-and the lip feel from the velvety foam mustache is hollerin’. I likey. drpimento (824), La Crosse, Wisconsin, USA
| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Mar 4, 2005 interesting nose, apricots, peaches, bananas with some malt and english hop, nice brownish amber color, brief dryness followed by a cloying sweetness, bittersweet aftertaste. Light persistant head with no lace. I like it. Got this bottle in a beer of the month club, but they have it in pub draught cans and once in a while on draft next door at Bodega downtown La Crosse. | 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Mar 1, 2005 Widgeted can. Aroma is bananas and spices. Silky texture, as expected from a widgeted brew. Flavor is malty, with some fruity undertones, and a bit of Belgian spiciness. A bit of hops in the finish. It’s OK, but I wouldn’t go out of my way to have it again (although I would like to try the cask version). Geiserich (1781), Vienna, Austria

| 2.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 3/5 | 4/10 | 2/5 | 8/20 | Feb 18, 2005 Very strong caramel aroma with some light floral tones. Clear copper coloured body is topped with fizzy white head that recedes to a lasting cover. Strong caramel malt flavour with some butterscotch and a light floral hop flavour and gentle bitterness. Mild effervescent carbonation and medium body. Butterscotch diacetyl becomes cloying after a while. Bottle. Cornfield (4938), Oak Forest, Illinois, USA
| 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Feb 16, 2005 From a widgeted can - The problem with these things is that they turn out to be way too smooth in palate and taste. The "unique rich, deep flavor" from the commercial description is washed away by the overly silky mouthfeel. Likewise, the aroma seems to suffer from the heavy, creamy head’s smothering. I’d like to try this from the cask some time. It seems to have possibilities.
