Bottle, Morrisons. This is ok, much lighter in body than I’d expected for the ABV, well hopped and malty, but lacks that certain something that would’ve made a classic. There are much better strong ales or "winter warmers" if you prefer, than this, 1845 or Old Jock for instance.

Dark coppery colored with little yellow head. Hopped and floral aroma with brown sugar and lemon. Medium bodied. Flavor is even more sweet with caramelly chocolate notes, lemon also comes up. Aftertaste is flowery with some perfumy tones, good casked ale.

Cask@The Last Plantagenet, Leicester. Brown beer with a reddish tinge. The aroma is lightly malty, and the flavour is hopped and toffee. Overall an average toffee and hopped beer.

Bottle from NW Metro Willis St. Pours reddish orange with a thin off white head.
Aromas are skunky, grassy. Some spicy, bready English malt.
Flavour is slightly bitter, malt driven. It’s got that classic English bitter taste, with a bit of spice, toffee sweetness. The 6.5% alcohol really rounds out the body.
Overall a very well rounded ‘English Bitter’, just nothing outside the box.

Bottle, a rich amber-brown colour. A sweet toffee nose. Palate is creamy at first, with more toffee. Then there is big alcohol on the palate through the swallow, along with tart fruit, and a stickyish finish. Pretty good for Greene King.

Brilliant clear, reddy amber body with short lasting off-white head. Thin toffee flavours in the taste, smooth, balanced, dried fruit, resiny, alcohol warmth on the finish.
