Cask at the Duke, Oxford. Some raspberry and citrus sweetness makes this one seem a bit lively compared to the hopwater shit that is the Greene King IPA. This one is just as thin and undesireable, just a little less maddening.

Bottled. Golden coloured. Quite clear. Dense white head. Sweet and herbal aroma. Flavour is light citric and herbal. Has some fruity notes. Medium bodied. Light bitter in the end. Easy to drink.

Cask, handpump @ the Green Man, Horsted Keynes.
Bright deep gold with a thin, creamy white head that held on for dear life. Short burst of grapefruit and pineapple on the nose. Light, flat and generally smooth palate. Tangy citrus fruits dominate the flavour; quite juicy, ripe and fresh with an underlying hint of pine and pasty pale malts. Finish is gentle showing a touch of bitter fruit before sweet honey and summery fruits seal the deal lingering long between swallows. Actually found this to be the best on offer at the Greene King tied pubs. Went well with my meal on the night anyway. Not bad.

Cask (handpump) at Cockney Pub, Aarhus, August 2005. Go all the way to Denmark and end up drinking a GK beer. What’s the world coming to! Actually, I though this was on of GK’s better offerings. Amber coloured. Quite fruity, with light tropical fruit and citrus to the fore. Fresh and clean. Not that interesting though.

From tap in Lewes, East Sussex. Light in colour with no head. Very flat ale with a hint of fruit, apple maybe. Overall it wet the whistle.

Bottle from Sainsbury’s. Golden with dissipating head. Orangey hop aroma with boiled sweet taint. Medium bodied with long hop finish. Better than expected.

Bottle @ Fynske Øldage. Very grainy aroma, strong notes of unfermented brew mash. Clear yellow body with a small white head. Very thin mouthfeel, light flavor of brew mash. Quite boring.
