Apparently proceeds support injured Rugby players. Gold with a white head. Toast and marmalade malt aroma. Whatever taste there is disappears in a metallic storm of fizziness. Some biscuity malt eventually emerges. Slight bitterness. You have to look pretty carefully on the bottle to see The GK logo.

Bottle, from Sainsburys, Grimsby. Gold, thin but lasting white head and moderate condition. Typical sweet and hoppy GK nose, quite soft initially in the mouth with a subdued sweetness soon taken over by an oily bitterness and a touch of lemon, lingering bitterness in the finish

Bottled, pasteurised, 500ml from Sainsburys, Bath. Pale gold with white head. Light, thin beer with a slightly artificial vanilla ice cream flavour, but here is the good thing, there is non of the boiled tea leaf note that is prevalent in the cask version, this is actually much better. It’s not great, but it is an improvement.

Bottle that I picked up in Sainsbury’s, Kidlington, 24-06-09 consumed in the garden last night. Pours golden with white head, sweet sickly aroma, very artificial boiled sweet nose with some malts. Taste is sweet, industrial and pretty lousy really, most impressive thing was that I finished the bottle. A4 A4 F4 P2 Ov8 2.2

50cl bottle from Sainsburys, Watford. Lager gold with a thin white head; typical GA aroma of pelleted hops; cloying citrus flavour with dusty hops and a metallic edge to the finish. Rather unpleasant.
