| 2.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 12/20 | Aug 17, 2009 500ml bottle from Sainsbury. Clear gold, thin white. Some GK yeast on the aroma. Some rubberised pasteurisation too. Some moderate hop on the aroma. too. It’s lacks some punch later on due to the fact that it is pasteurised. Starts alright, but then rather dies into a citrusy blandness. It’s a good thing Lawrence was a better player than this is a good beer, or we wouldn’t have won the Rugby World Cup. Dull, but with some decent citrus flavours. hughie (3057), Bedford, Bedfordshire, England
| 2.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 9/20 | Jul 9, 2009 Apparently proceeds support injured Rugby players. Gold with a white head. Toast and marmalade malt aroma. Whatever taste there is disappears in a metallic storm of fizziness. Some biscuity malt eventually emerges. Slight bitterness. You have to look pretty carefully on the bottle to see The GK logo. SilkTork (4173), Rochester, Kent, England
| 2.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 3/10 | 3/5 | 3/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Aug 31, 2009 500ml bottle from Sainsbury. A light coloured ale, bordering on lager. It’s clean with some light fruit and few hops - though some aromatics do linger pleasantly. If you want a lager type beer- that is something fairly light and clean - but at a lower abv with some body, then this works. Slight toffee notes. Not offensive. Slips down easy, but is not remarkable. rauchbier (3000), Isle Of Beer, Lincolnshire, England
| 2.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 10/20 | Jul 4, 2009 Bottle, from Sainsburys, Grimsby. Gold, thin but lasting white head and moderate condition. Typical sweet and hoppy GK nose, quite soft initially in the mouth with a subdued sweetness soon taken over by an oily bitterness and a touch of lemon, lingering bitterness in the finish imdownthepub (5143), Banbury, Oxfordshire, England
| 2.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | Jun 30, 2009 Bottled, pasteurised, 500ml from Sainsburys, Bath. Pale gold with white head. Light, thin beer with a slightly artificial vanilla ice cream flavour, but here is the good thing, there is non of the boiled tea leaf note that is prevalent in the cask version, this is actually much better. It’s not great, but it is an improvement. leaparsons (4729), Leicester, Leicestershire, England
| 2.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 2/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 10/20 | Sep 7, 2009 Bottle. Golden with a thin head. Aromas are lots of caramel with citrus and toast. Buttery. Flavours are sweet lemon and caramel with slick butter and slightly medicinal notes. Has a prickly sparkle. Dull. Fin (3420), Merton, Oxfordshire, England
| 2.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 4/5 | 4/10 | 2/5 | 8/20 | Jun 26, 2009 Bottle that I picked up in Sainsbury’s, Kidlington, 24-06-09 consumed in the garden last night. Pours golden with white head, sweet sickly aroma, very artificial boiled sweet nose with some malts. Taste is sweet, industrial and pretty lousy really, most impressive thing was that I finished the bottle. A4 A4 F4 P2 Ov8 2.2
