It’s a quite fruity bitter, no huge hop presence, little bit of tongue tingle on finish. Some GK yeast character. Other than fruit, a bit dull. MesandSim (5851), London, Greater London, England

Ruby / copper body with a good off white head and plenty of lace. Fruity and chunky all round. Good liquorice and plum notes. Lovely malt and faint licks of malt. Obvious Belgian yeasty character. Drinks light a lighter Gouden Carolus Classic. And for that I like it a lot. A little more complex than most you find at a JDW. Pretty decent all rounder. Nice one. Hang about... GREENE KING??? What the FUNK??? Honestly I liked it. Magicdave6 (5513), London, Greater London, England

Alround rating: Grainy toffee malts, fruity berry character, dry grassy bittering hop. No idea why they made this dark, it doesnt seem to have suited it well. leaparsons (4731), Leicester, Leicestershire, England

Aromas are nutty with roast malts and grapefruit. Flavours are weetabix malts with some chocolate and berry notes. Mostly dry and hoppy with a light herbal, bitter pithy finish. Decent. maeib (4725), Wootton, Northampton, Northamptonshire, England

The aroma has fruity and biscuity notes. Some reasonable fruits and bready malts in the mouth but spoilt late on by that dishwatery yeasty GK house flavour.

The nose was almost non-existent but then it was up against the Oakham Hareflick and the surprisngly good Ramsbury’s Hell’s Highway Mild. Taste was fruity and malty and there was some toffee, the commercial description being very accurate and whilst not a bad beer by any means its just a middle of the road beer. Dark amber with a small white head. Faint sweet aroma, slightly fruity with suggestions of apple and peach. Taste has painty fruit sourness and some background malt. Lingering nettly bitter finish. I thought it was quite good.
