Commercial Description:
Pasteurised bottle only.
Brewed to complement food, we use the lightest malts and Tettnang hops to achieve the unique pale golden colour, crisp taste and dry finish. This unique blend makes Hop the ideal accompaniment to spicy dishes, seafood and poultry. The Tettnang hops, imported from Washington State and Oregon, give the beer its soft melon aroma and complete the dry finish.

Has a nice hoppy aroma to it, though a little sweetness and alcohol that don’t seem too promising. Looks okay I guess, though the incredibly clear look to it isn’t great, nor is the head. Has a nice malty Belgian taste to it, some fruitiness, but not overpowering. Interesting beer but not a particularily great one.

Bottle, purchased for $13.99 at Centre City New World Market in Dunedin. $13.99!!! This better one tasty mo-fo. Pours a clear golden with a very short-lived white cap. Aroma is initially perfumey citrus fruit and underlying sweet malt, but given a few minutes and all I get is corn syrup and a bit of skunk. Palate is corny malts and a bit of leafy hops with an unfortunate metallic note in the finish. I just paid $13.99 for a plae lager, and a pretty unimpressive one at that. Never again.

Appearance: Crystal clear and golden in colour. Pours with a giant fluffy head, which fades quickly. Mild to low carbonation. Aroma: Crisp grassy hops, with biscuity malts. There is also a little grapefruit in there. Taste: Not as bitter as I was expecting, the hops are quite restrained, and only provide a small amount of bitterness towards the end. A bit bland overall unfortunately. Mouthfeel: Light, thin and carbonic (contrary to the appearance). Drinkability: It is very easy to drink but the flavours are far too muted, and it gives the beer a bland taste, which is a shame. I can see why they pitched it as a dinning beer.

Bottle (in NZ). Pours a clear dark gold with a filmy white head. Just a hint of citrus in the hoppy, but slightly soapy, nose. The carbonation is overpowering. A little soapy on the palate as well, and a bit sweet. Thin with some metallicness in the finish.

750ml Bottle ( Drink, Tallinn) - Dark golden in colour. Hoppy, but slightly sterile aroma with some hints of grapefruit, tea and malt. Fruity and hoppy taste which unfortunately has some sterile elements. Not a bad attempt, but they could do much better with this.

No carbonation at all and a sweet yellow cloying flavour. Cheap corn. Why export this half way round the world. Bad piece of marketing group driven brewing.
