Commercial Description:
Pasteurised bottle only.
Brewed to complement food, we use the lightest malts and Tettnang hops to achieve the unique pale golden colour, crisp taste and dry finish. This unique blend makes Hop the ideal accompaniment to spicy dishes, seafood and poultry. The Tettnang hops, imported from Washington State and Oregon, give the beer its soft melon aroma and complete the dry finish.

Whilst shopping at Int’l Beer shop, W. Leederville, with my missus, she was somehow attracted by the 75cL bottle and insisted I buy it. This summed up this beer, an inoffensive new age beer, aimed at the female market. Poured into two goblets (one for each of us), Thin creamy white head sat atop a honey gold body. Very faint aroma, in fact not much at all, grassy and candy sugar sweetness, came only after it warmed up. The candy sugar persisted in the mouth, amid a thin body and medium carbonation. Almost flavourless chilled, and cloyingly sweet once warmed, this beer had none of the hop character mentioned, bar a stale cardboardy mid palate and a forgetful crisp swallow.

Bottled, pasteurised, 660ml. Golden with short lasting head. Understated initially, had to look for flavours, presumably GK wanted a blank canvas for the food. A weak malt flavour begins to emerge, but still couldn’t get the hops. At least it didn’t have the tea like signatue of some other GK beers. Nothing special.

Golden with a decent white head. Aromas are initially a bit skunky upon the bottle opening, settling down into grassy, clean hops. Flavours are sweet soft biscuit malts and crisp hops bitterness. Slightly stale aftertaste. Would go well with a hot curry. Mmm, curry....

Bottled. Golden colour. Aroma of caramel and grass. Sweet and somewhat thin with clean mouthfeel and low-medium bitterness. A boring beer with an industrial feel to it.

MGC with medium sized very short lasting white head. Mild woody hops and light biscuity grain malt aroma. Smooth light bodied low carb palate. Medium tending to candy sugar sweet and light stalish bitter flavours. Melon hey - hummmm, it’s not watermelon, or cantaloupe, or honey dew, must be a melon I don’t know about

A clear golden beer with a fine white head. Fresh fruity aroma with malt and hop notes. Crispy flavor. Malty and flowery with hops in the finish. Not very interesting but fresh and clean.

Bottle from Sainsbury’s. Light refreshing melony, mildly hoppy blondie beer. Doesn’t live up to the hype, but not unpleasant.

In the bottle, bought from Asda in Derby. Apparently brewed to compliment food. Well I had it with dinner & it was fine but no better suited than other beers. Quite Lagery over all, but not bad. Also it came in a wine shaped bottle. (the bottle I had stated the strength as 4.5%)
