Commercial Description:
Pasteurised bottle only.
Brewed to complement food, we use the lightest malts and Tettnang hops to achieve the unique pale golden colour, crisp taste and dry finish. This unique blend makes Hop the ideal accompaniment to spicy dishes, seafood and poultry. The Tettnang hops, imported from Washington State and Oregon, give the beer its soft melon aroma and complete the dry finish.

750ml bottle. Light, golden colour. Aroma is caramel with a gentle touch of hops. Not much flavours, quite sweet with a hint of hop. Very smooth but ending up as another boring industrial beer.

(750ml clear bottle) Crystal clear apple juice body topped by medium white head that mostly diminishes. Initial aroma is skunky, grassy. Once it has a chance to breathe, the skunk gives way to grassy/citrus, some cereal. Taste is medium sweet, grassy, cereal, some fruitiness (melon, apricot), citrus, caramel, light herbal. Light-medium body, light syrup, fairly dry finish. Getting past the initial aroma revealed a fairly decent beer.

14 Mar 2006 - Sweet hopy aroma. Clear amber, low head and poor lacing. Sweet fully hopped and low malt flavour. Bitter hoppy finish, a thin, nothing sort of beer.

Bottle. Not much head with shortish duration. Golden colored. Taste is kinda like a lager. Low carbonation.

CLEAR Bottle (when will they ever learn?) and cost me $7.50 (when will I ever learn):

Clean golden hue with a small but lasting frothy head but little lace. Smells more like a lager than an ale with the grassy Tettnang hops at the forefront with a dash of biscuity and husky malts. The taste is a straight forward mild bitter and herbal flavor with no depth to speak of. Not that this beer is bad to speak, but for the money it was a poor investment. The best part is the fancy bottle and that is not gonna help the rating, it is not a beer to dine for that is for sure.
AVOID unless you can find it at discount for a buck or two (and by then it most likely will be light struck i.e. skunked!

very lagerish for an ale, theyve gone for american hops so it tastes a bit like a more flavoursome american beer. Certainly no ’beer to dine for’

Bottle (from Tescos). Quite neutral overall. Some vaguely fruity grassy hop aromas. Dry with chalky malt flavours. Quite lagerish and seems like an attempt by GK to cash in with a fancy bottle.
