Cask at The Eagle, Cambridge. Small head. Hops and caramel aroma, thin with slightly hoppy flavour. Slightly gassy.

(Cask at The Crown Charlton On Otmoor) A copper coloured beer that is a bit on the thin side, but with a clean bitter finish. Whilst no great shakes it is through lack of choice probably my regular tipple in my local. A good session beer, but where I live I’d rather the choice of Chiswick, Hooky, Youngs etc any day.

[Cask at Charlies Bar, Copenhagen] An amber beer with a nice beige head. The aroma is very light with notes of caramel - too light for my liking. The flavor is roasted toffeish on a mineral background, and with a dry rather bitter end. The body is somewhat thin.

Cask. Clear orange coloured with a small off white head. Aroma of malts and fruits with hoppy notes. Fruity flavour with notes of malts and hops.

A bloody awful example of an IPA. Its thin, flavourless..who’s ever heard of an IPA at 3.6%?? The beer they sent for judging at last year’s Great British Beer Festival tasting was nothing like the bog standard GK IPA you get in the bland pubs you see in GK estates. My view was a ’special IPA’ was brewed for the Champion Beer tasting panel. How else can something so bland, un-interesting and shite win silver??? Standards people, come on!

1. Cask Handpump at the Commercial Hotel, Chester 28/06/2001 Malty mid brown bitter and slightly pale. 2. Cask Handpump at the Fentiman Arms, Stockwell 18/09/2002 Amber and malty with a slightly bitter dry finish. 3. Cask Handpump at the Hungry Horse, Cuddington 07/04/2003 Copper golden slightly sweet and pale with a lasting malt finish. 4. Cask Handpump at the Commercial Hotel, Chester 17/04/2004 Amber golden coloured and slightly pale. 14. Cask Handpump at the New Derby, Sunderland 01/11/2005. Copper coloured with a slight hint of fruitiness and sourness. Finishes malty and a little dry. 15. Cask Handpump at the Old Crown, Northwich 27/11/2005 Copper amber colour and fruity. Slightly dry malt finish. 16. Cask Handpump at the Hare & Hounds, Crowton 24/02/2007 Bronze golden coloured. Large white head. Some floral aroma. Smooth on the palate and slightly fruity with a little dryness and bitterness in a crisp malt finish.

Handpump @ ’White Lion’, James str, London, UK. Colour between peach and copper, great lace. Aroma: yeast, a bit perfumed, fruit (banana). Neutral and gently fruity taste. No bitterness, no aftertaste. Solid body, creamy texture.

NOthing interestin at all in this one, nothing bad, but I mean is like the other bitter beers. The foam is ok and sticky.
