Finally we found a bed for the night, and I wanted to retaste this beer in the cask version - and it seemed nice, but I realize that the relief and relaxation was of vital importance. But I’ll try to be neutral. Warm amber and a huge, creamy head. The aroma is fruity with notes of caramel, uncomplicated and it’s inviting me to dive in - and so I did. The flavour is not very strong, but perfect for right now, fruity malty, notes of caramel, honey and pumpkin. The bitterness is low, too low for an IPA, but Ok for a session beer. evilsoc (191), Wales

Slightly cloudy amber with off white head. not much aroma to shout about. light caramel with peppery bitterness throughout. Not bad, just not good. raul (11), England

Hopefully, this resume of the situation will have sufficiently padded out the critique to enable me to just say...

Pours orange amber with a creamy off white head. Faint aroma of fruity ale esters. Light bodied with a watered down texture. Initial flavor of toffee countered by a spicy hop bitterness that carries through to the finish. The bitter finish is joined by butter and tea notes. Rather boring compared to other bitters that I had, and not any hoppier either. jerryballoono (32), Urgup, Turkey

Cold cooked broccoli and green beans aroma with a little grass. Clear, dark brown amber body with a very small long-lasting creamy off-white head. Vegetable base flavour has light grass throughout, peppers, and a sweet hint of mild milk chocolate after. Medium body has a hint of bitterness. Nice and repeatable but a little boring. | 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Nov 21, 2007 Cask at The Skinner’s Arms, London - came light, clear amber with very small head. Aroma is very lightly hopped, mild malts, semi-sweet, uncomplex. Flavour is similarly basic. Herbal, grassy hops mingle with lightly sweet malts...nothing amazing, and the taste is mild and the finish is short. The first cask ale I had, right after getting off the train in London at St. Pancras. Despite it not being amazing, it was very welcome.
