mgermani (621), Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada Jul 5, 2008 Pours a clear copper with nearly no head. Faint malty aroma. Glad it’s considered a bitter on RateBeer, as it’s certainly not an IPA. Tastes very malty, some diacetyl, light bitterness. Thin, reasonable carb. Pleasant but unremarkable.
The_Jester (500), Peterborough, Ontario, Canada Oct 7, 2008 500 mL. (Hope this is in the right place - reads 5.1%). Amber brown with a small, light beige head. Floral/earthy hops, ripe friut and caramel in the aroma, but somehow not as interesting as it sounds. Sweet caramel malt and floral hops in the flavour. Some bitterness in the finish. A little thin and heavily carbonated. oh6gdx (6343), Vaasa, Finland Sep 30, 2008 Bottled@SBWF2008. Amber colour, mediumsized beige head. Aroma is hops, caramel malts and some mild notes of wood. Flavour is hops, grass, caramel and some slight paperyness. The spicyness grows towards the finish and aftertaste. Radek Kliber (3342), Toronto, Ontario, Canada Sep 27, 2008 Clear Bottle 500 ml
Appearance: Amber tea in color with large presentable creamy slightly darker head. Nose: Rather sweet , hint of honey with slight hop like spiciness, citric touch. Strong creamy character behind. Flavor/Palate : Medium bodied ale . Soft , slightly creamy I texture. Frontal spicy hopiness with off pepper like feel. Not entirely clean. Late light malt feel was noted. Poor example.
DruncanVeasey (1737), No. 46, Leicestershire, Germany Sep 18, 2008 Dead shining bronze. Cooked old hop, tea, caramel, almost orange peel, rusty nail and butterscotch aroma. Not bad, actually. Beyond the nose, Badger-like yeasty doughiness, soggy biscuit, tea, gentle nuttiness, MARZIPAN. Offputting alcohol/almond notes of a beer several percent stronger. Clinging dunked Rich Tea afters. Bitterness of the shampoo variety. Not revolting, but getting there. zappafan99 (332), Rock Hill, South Carolina, USA Aug 29, 2008 TASTE 8/29, BOTTLE(DATE?). LOOKS: COPPER BODY WITH A SMALL WHITE CAP. AROMA: YEASTY SOUR. TASTE: MOSTLY YEAST AND. A SPOT OF CITRUS AND BITTER. FAIRLY BLAND.
