Can from River City Cellars, Richmond. I was misinformed by this otherwise reputable and trustworthy staff. Told that this was an exemplary entry as an English IPA, I found it to be a barely drinkable, blandly generic "beer." Britain’s version of Bud Light.

I have drink this a few times as for a bottled beer its good value 660ml bottle’s. However this is the first time that I have thought about this beer. I am not sure that its that great. Appearance - little head and dark gold colour. Flavor- bitter Aroma- hoppy But its just a very basic beer much better things out there.

Draught@Kaisla, Helsinki, 3/2008. You call this an IPA? Almost no hop flavor and watery throughout. Very disappointing.

draft at pub on Leicester Square, London. Pours a deep amber with offwhite head. Smell is hard to detect. Some pilsner-type odor. Some malt. The taste was disappointing in that I thought it was going to be an IPA, but it wasn’t. No hop flavor at all. Boo!! Tasted like a pilsner, but not a good one. No bitter aftertaste either. Couldn’t even finish this one.

From a can, pours a deep golden color with a small fizzy head. Aroma is sweet and slightly malty, not at all what I was expecting from an IPA. Flavor is sweet and mildly fruity. A little too watery. Nothing fantastic.

Dark coppery colored with little yellow head. Licorice is nice in this mildly hopped aroma, some fruity apple also here. Thin to medium bodied. Flavor starts with fruity-apple and some sour sweetness, lemon also here. Aftertaste dries strongly with licorice still, some fruits also here.

Amber with a small and short lived head. I’m not surprised that this beer is not listed as an IPA here as its hop character is minimal, in fact it leans more towards a soft maltiness. Sweet aroma with a little bitterness. Caramel flavour, watery body. A poor enough effort.
