kappldav123 (1066), Markkleeberg, Germany Jan 7, 2008 The bottle looks good, the beer in the glass also. Smoky aroma. Malty and dry flavor. Good beer.
cgreb (57), Marburg, Germany Sep 18, 2008 on tap - dark orange beer with white foam. Malty and sweet aroma and flavour. mabel (1662), Toronto, Ontario, Canada Sep 14, 2008 Updated: Sep 15, 2008[1635-20080828] 500mL bottle. Aroma has a little skunky grains and earthy malt. Clear, amber red body with a quick creamy light tan head. Sweet grainy maple-tinged malty earth flavour. Medium-full body is a little rough. Could fare better in a non-clear bottle.
(w/ jerc) fata2683 (178), APO, New York, USA Sep 12, 2008 On tap Bury St. Edmunds, England. Pours light/lightly amber in color into the pint glass. Looks almost like a Guinness with it’s extremely frothy head. Taste is rather dull, light bitterness and creamy mouthfeel. I wouldn’t search this out but I’m not upset I gave it a go. jerc (3212), Toronto, Ontario, Canada Sep 11, 2008 2008-08-28. Dark amber bod with a smallish tan head. (3+) Earthy aroma, light toasty malt notes, caramel touches, just a kiss of skunkiness perhaps? (6+). Similar flavour, earthy malt, mild caramel, pleasant bitterness is nice but quite mild even for an English style IPA. (6+) Average plus palate. Nice, quaffable, just okay but decent. Bottle from the LCBO madquacker (505), Canberra ACT, Australia Aug 30, 2008 Brownish hue with little head. Very hoppy over a watery base. Quite bland and dull.
