The bottle looks good, the beer in the glass also. Smoky aroma. Malty and dry flavor. Good beer.

[1635-20080828] 500mL bottle. Aroma has a little skunky grains and earthy malt. Clear, amber red body with a quick creamy light tan head. Sweet grainy maple-tinged malty earth flavour. Medium-full body is a little rough. Could fare better in a non-clear bottle.

On tap Bury St. Edmunds, England. Pours light/lightly amber in color into the pint glass. Looks almost like a Guinness with it’s extremely frothy head. Taste is rather dull, light bitterness and creamy mouthfeel. I wouldn’t search this out but I’m not upset I gave it a go.

2008-08-28. Dark amber bod with a smallish tan head. (3+) Earthy aroma, light toasty malt notes, caramel touches, just a kiss of skunkiness perhaps? (6+). Similar flavour, earthy malt, mild caramel, pleasant bitterness is nice but quite mild even for an English style IPA. (6+) Average plus palate. Nice, quaffable, just okay but decent. Bottle from the LCBO

Brownish hue with little head. Very hoppy over a watery base. Quite bland and dull.
