Commercial Description:
Cask; Regular.
St Edmunds is a new golden beer and the first of its kind in the UK. A revolutionary take on a traditional dispense, the unique beer engine allows drinkers to choose how their cask pint of St Edmunds is served. Reflecting regional tastes, drinkers can opt for a ‘northern head’ – tight and creamy or a ‘southern head’ – a crowning glory of loose bubbles.
Recently voted Beer of the Month by renowned beer writer Roger Protz, St Edmunds is crisp and fresh with zesty, citrus notes. Offering drinkers a choice of styles, St Edmunds still provides the great flavour of a quality cask beer. Specially brewed to be served between 6-8 degrees - cooler than traditional cask beers – it delivers the refreshment of colder drinks while retaining all the depth of character, taste and aroma of real ale.

Cask at The Eagle, Cambridge. Gold with a short aerated head. Very fruity with an orange hop scent. Carbonated. Bitter and slightly dry. Earthy hops in the mouth, some roast malt. Slightly bland but I liked what was there.

Cask at The Wheatsheaf Frimley Green. A good golden colour with a nice medium size white head. Plenty of fruit in the aroma, and in the taste. Not a bad beer for Greene King.

Cask Conditioned Handpump Sun Inn Kislingbury. A golden beer with a whitish head and lacing. The aroma has some citrus hoppy notes but a little Suffolk dishwater. The taste is lightly hoppy and a tad floral. Quite refreshing actually.

Draught, The Pumphouse, Liverpool. Clear golden colour with minimal off white head. Fruity aroma with caramel malt and vague hop. Sweetish flavour with fruity notes and muffled hoppage. Thought this was going to be poor judging by other GK beers and I suppose its slightly better than anticipated. Nothing exciting here though....
