Smells like good ole Tennessee whiskey. Dark black, low carbonation. Alcohol bites through. Really warms up a cold winter night. billcore (1), USA does not count | 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Jan 7, 2008 one of my favorite beers of all time. its hard for me to find but when i can i ’ll buy a whole case. the malt is heavy and rich. the color is a dark brown, its one of the smoothest beers i have ever had. can definitely taste some caramel as well. the only thing missing is longer lasting head but oh well. still awesome. scrizzz (1306), kirkland, Washington, USA

While buttery smooth, and a slight acidic tart after taste, it’s not what one would expect given the advertisements. It’s very smooth, I was expecting a bit harsher on the tongue given the fizzy, yet quickly dissipating head. Pours a dark butterscotch cola color. Nice slightly chewy malt... that caramel and butter. Generally good, but not exciting. (Bottle Pour 1/7/2008) vadavid (131), Fredericksburg, Virginia, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 17/20 | Jan 4, 2008 Pours dark tea-like brown. Thin head leaving just a thin ring. Aroma is strong mail and caramel. Flavor has roasted malts, oak, caramel, along with some dark fruits. Good robust flavor has some hints of sherry flavors, I assume from the oak aged ale blended in. This is one of the beers we tend to keep on hand all the time. MrRomero (1934), Nolanville, Texas, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Dec 31, 2007 500ml bottle: poured brown with ruby notes and a finger-sized beige head. I thought the head would stick around a while but it didn’t. Flavor is light roasted malt and some dark fruits like raisins and figs. Mild burnt finish in the back of my throat. A good beer and typically English. uhre (339), Denmark

I was really looking forward for this, it sounded so good with the oak, but no... Borup (1359), Albertslund, Denmark
