Commercial Description:
Bottle; Pasteurised.
A blend of two ales: Old 5X , which is brewed to the maximum strength possible (around 12% abv) and left to mature in 100-barrel oak vats for a minimum of two years, and BPA, a dark, full-bodied freshly brewed beer which is added just before bottling. The result is a unique beer - strong (6% abv), dark, fruity, oaky and very, very special. In the United States, this is known as Olde Suffolk.

Bottled. This dark brown beer has a nicely complex aroma and flavour with dark fruity malt, caramel, vanilla and alcohol.

A hazy brown colour. Pale brown head. Some hints of apple in the nose. A little bit sour taste with aromas of prunes and oak and syrup and caramel. Suiteble sweetness. A bite of hops in the end.

Bottle, 50 cl - A dark amber brown beer with a beige head. Very honey sweet aroma with strong fruity notes, and hints of nuts. Flavor is malty with hints of honey and nuts, ends with a pleasant dryness. Enjoyable beer!

Pours a deep burgundy with small, dissipating off-white head and a little spotty lacing. Nose is quite nice, with those vinous, rummy qualities you expect from a good old ale, with notes of oak and cherries, and even a hint of mint added to the complexity. Decent, smooth body with a nice full mouthfeel that leads from banana esters to deep lightly roasted malts and burnt toffee before a rooty licorice finish. A nice old ale.
