Enjoyed in Ilulissat, Greenland, where this Xmas ale is available for purchase at most supermarkets (try the Pisiffik down by the harbour). A hoppy, full-bodied ale that’s sort of bitter and may have too much alcohol for its own good.

03/11 0.5 l bottle courtesy of ogivlado, thanks for sharing! New country count. It poured red to brown body with medium sized ocher head. Nice malty caramel and fruity ale yeast in aroma. Slightly sweet flavor, caramelly, very pleasant, but BB date passed 7 months ago, which is definitely felt here. Simple, with medium body. Finishes shortly with some darker fruits. It’s fine in this shape as well, but if only it was fresh.

Bottled(500ml). -trade with faroeviking (thanks Jacob).
Reddish/brown coloured, medium sized pale beige head, malty and jam nose. Sweet malty, fruity and caramel taste with light smoked notes. Also notes of plums and touch of alcohol. Pitty for BBE: 01.04.2008.

Bottle that ogivlado received in a trade with faroeviking (thanks!), shared with him and heavy.
Poured a nice red body tinged with amber. Medium-small beige head that went away slowly. A nice fruity malty nose, jam, some grain, nut and dust. Dry, bitterish taste at first, hop, notes of alcohol, stale dusty yeastiness (it’s a bit old), but then malt shows up.. sweetish honey, bubblegum, pomegrenate... nice maltiness. This was quite nice fresh I guess and not all that bad in this state as well.

(Bottle) Pours a hazy mahogany body with a spare beige head. Aroma of raisins, gingersnaps, toasted malt, brown sugar, molasses, plums, and caramel. Flavor of watered down cola, caramel malt, clove, nutmeg, and fruitiness.
