coldbrewky (525), Saugerties, New York, USA Aug 28, 2008 500ml bottle: Nose of anerobic leaves.
Pours a murky gloopy deep brown with no head reminiscent of a chemistry experiment gone wrong. Aroma grows from tulip glass and is of dumpster scum and week old scuba diving vacation clothes. First taste reaffirms the fact the German engineering of the Beer purity law is the penultimate in beer design.(stick to what works). Here is my list of what this beer DOES NOT contain: Good taste. pleasant expreience, tranquility. The remainder of this "beer" scored a ZERO slug kill in the garden overnight. Genesee red killed over 20! Stroh’s killed 31! Beer loving suicidal slugs dont even like this crap. The brewer should be flogged then made to consume only this for a week.
junon (154), Honolulu, Hawaii, USA Oct 22, 2008 Not as heavily fragrant as I expected. Full bodied. For a Belgian beer the burn is extremely tame. hopscotch (4679), Vero Beach, Florida, USA Oct 2, 2008 Bottle... Hazy amber/orange ale with a mid-sized, creamy, off-white head. Excellent retention. Grainy aroma with sake characteristics, like their Endeavour, but not as harsh. Some caramel and toffee notes. Medium-bodied with a skim-milk mouthfeel and fizzy carbonation. Good bitterness to go along with the restrained caramel, toffee and grainy sweetness. Provides much better balance than the Endeavour. Crisp, lightly bitter finish. DocLock (4175), Lower Pottsgrove, Pennsylvania, USA Sep 19, 2008 Bottle from Capone’s. Pours deep ruby with 3-finger off-white frothy head. This one looks great, with great lacing. Nose is vinus fruit, sour mashy malt, caramel, and hops. Tastes of vinous fruit, red winey, with brown suagr, and mild hops. This is perhaps the best gluten free beer I have yet had, and I can’t wait to try the Green’s tripel. robforbes (788), Bremerton, Washington, USA Sep 14, 2008 pours a cloudy dark amber with a small light biege head, good lacing.
smell is alcohol, malt, touch of caramel, some hops.
taste is thick, funky, malt, with a strange aftertaste. llcooldave (193), San Antonio, Texas, USA Sep 13, 2008 Nice red copper in color. Slight musty aroma. As for flavor, this beer has a weird tang to it almost like rancid fruit. That’s the only way I can describe it. This isn’t very good.
