OK, I’ve discovered gluten-free beer. Glad to know if I suddenly develop an allergy to glutens, I’ll still have something drinkable that I could get used to, and maybe even someday grow to like. Since that’s a pretty unlikely occurance however, I doubt I’ll ever be drinking this stuff again. This one, particularly, is the least remarkable of the Green’s beers I’ve tried. I came. I saw. I drank. Now can I have a real beer please?

500 mL bottle from Whole Foods Market Charlottesville, VA. Best before 05 JAU (?) 2012. Pours a dark hazy brown color with a moderate creamy tan head. Decent head retention and lacing. Aroma is tart, almost bretty with some malty brown sugar notes, berries and something a bit vegetal. Taste is tart cherries, brown sugar and other malty notes and a spicy finish. Medium bodied. Decent beer.

A lightly hazed brown ale with a thick lacing light moka head. a light sourish sweet aroma, with light Brett notes, cherries, not bad. In mouth, an interesting beer with sweet licorice, sour fruits, but thin bodied. Bottle from Piscator, BB 18-09-09, shared with probstk, Sept. 1 2009. Thanks Kris.

Dark orange-brown, loose tan head. A grain alcohol aroma, lemony, light caramel, raisins. Taste is more caramel, raisiny fruit, lemony alcohol without the head, just odd.

La fa De Proef?? quando ho assaggiato questa birra ho veramente avuto un moto di compassione per tutti i celiaci di questo mondo. Se potessi le darei 0.1; terrificante, acida, sintetica, decisamente disgustosa.

500 ml from the Utah State Store on Foothill. The other Greens beer I had was nasty, but this was decent. Pours a bright amber color with a thick white head. The aroma is slightly sourer with some sweeter notes- seems artificial. The flavor is similar; a mix of sour glue-like elements and some sweeter fruitiness. Not as horrible as expected.

500 ml. bottle. Shared with multiple people at our monthly home brew meeting. The bottle says it is an Amber. Pours a minimal white head over a slightly cloudy medium amber (SRM 20) body.....nose rather cider like with apple, vinegar tones.....taste is very cider like with apple pear and vinegar.....mouth feel is light,as is carbonation. I don’t much care for non malt wheat brews, and this does little to change my mind.

1 pt 9 fl. oz. bottle, shared by Lubiere (merci!), served cold in a tulip glass. BB 18-09-09. SE01/09.

App.: Deep reddish-copper, somewhat cloudy with yeast chunks, so-so light tan head. Aroma: Light sour ale, some sour cherries, light minerals, light licorice, minty herbals, some dark dried fruits, quite nice. Palate: Medium-light body and fairly soft effervescence. Flav.: Lots of apple juice, some berries and light dark dried fruits, a touch of molasses; off-dry with a touch of bitterness, a bit light.

Quite interesting!

[2384-20090801] Sample. Sweet malt aroma also has sweaty oak wine casks and something like moth balls. Hazy, dark brown body with a long-lasting foamy off-white head. Sweet fern-like malt flavour. Medium body. Unpleasant.
