ucusty (1241), Wake Forest, North Carolina, USA Sep 11, 2007 found this in my dads wine cooler. must be at least 5 years old and it did not hold up very well. similar to a farmhouse in aroma and flavor. finish’s sweet with a twist of skunk DocLock (4175), Lower Pottsgrove, Pennsylvania, USA Jun 6, 2005 Wow, I just found out that Greenshields has been closed, and are reopening soon in the Triangle, NC. I found this in bottles at Peace St. Market, Raleigh. This one is dark straw with some hopcit and floral esters. The taste is less hoppy than many IPAs, but the malt is solid, and it is fairly well balanced. BrewEd (182), Wilmington, North Carolina, USA May 2, 2004 I’m assuming I got a bad one - this was a serious drain pour. Usually Greenshields stuff is good - I’ll have to go back and re-rate once I’ve tried it again. brownaler (375), Topsail Beach, North Carolina, USA Apr 16, 2004 A decent IPA that isn't over the top. Has a kind of grassy finish, but still very drinkable. ross (1582), charlotte, North Carolina, USA Apr 10, 2004 im confused. this is a good IPA, but it has too much malt and too much of a malty smell. replace the malts with a strong hop presence and you could get a better than average ipa. all that aside, golden pour, standard ipa looking beer. this is better than highland IPA for NC brewed beers.. not bad.
