harrisoni (5474), Ashford, Kent, England Aug 20, 2008 From a plastic barrel at GBBF 08. Clear pale gold. Bit of cheese on aroma. Some tannin in there, rather good pear fruit. Bit of acidity. That’s alright actually, bit of tannin coats the gums. Fruit is quite syrupy and intense in fact.
leaparsons (4058), Leicester, Leicestershire, England Aug 20, 2006 Swan and Rushes, Leicester. Cloudy orange and still. Aromas are sweet and sour pear juice with perfume - has hints of lavender. Flavours are mellow pear with zesty, sour lemon. Very dry and woody towards the finish. Some hints of bitter liquorice. Pretty good. chriso (4420), London, Greater London, England Dec 3, 2005 From the barrel at GBBF, August 2005. Very pale, soft colour. Quite dry, highly attenuated and flinty, but not full of flavour. The mouthfeel is fairly thin and the overall feel is a touch austere. Farmhouse perries are often distinguishable from ciders in that they are softer and more fruity. This tends more towards a cider feel.
Hildigöltur (5056), København Ø, Denmark Apr 13, 2005 Gravity. Very pale coloured. Not very flavourfull. Slightly thin and pretty boring.
