bhensonb (4180), Woodland, California, USA Jul 15, 2009 Bottle. Poured dark amber with a temporary white head. Light fruity, near cola, aroma. Medium body with firm carbonation. Flavor is spicey, but a touch medicinal. Caramel with fresh fruit, but also cooked fruit. There’s a lot going on in this. Finishes balanced, not too sweet, not too bitter. Interesting beer. BoBoChamp (1334), Gent, Belgium Jan 7, 2009 33cl, from De Bierloods Adegem, complex brew, not balanced, hazy, small head, nice brew Russo (595), Campinas, Brazil Dec 10, 2008 Red coloration and a beige head, aroma is too sweet, like some tutti-fruit, like bus station in Brazil, Believe it!!!! Flavor too sweet as well, alcohol present, Mouthfeel is spicy and alcohol notes. Glouglouburp (2778), Montreal, Quebec, Canada Oct 24, 2008 In short: A problematic sweet aggressive Belgian dark ale.
How: Bottle 330ml, probably 1+ year old
The look: A short lived beige head over cloudy redish-brown body with a lot a medium size particles
In long: Aggressive fruitiness and some alcohol on the nose, like a bakery alcoholised dessert. Grainy malts, crusty bread, fruits concentrate, ripe fruits. Carbonation is way too aggressive. The beer is very sweet but without only a little caramel flavour. The strong sweetness was like what you get from a baked fruit dessert. Tasty but more annoying than anything. Dry toasted bread and dry tree leaves in the finish with a lot of cardboard. Many many problems. Thankfully it’s not brewed in California cause it’s very rare and I’d hate to see it rated over 4. jalichio999 (502), Brazil Oct 20, 2008 No rótulo há uma bruxa voando com sua vassoura numa noite de lua cheia. Final levemente amargo e seco. Encorpada. Álcool bem inserido. Carbonatação média/alta. Conjunto equilibrado e diferenciado. Excelente surpresa! Final longo e levemente doce. Uma excelente e surpreendente cerveja.
fonefan (10868), VestJylland, Denmark Sep 9, 2008 Bottle 33cl @ [ Tasting in Ulfborg ]. Clear medium brown color with a average to large, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, off-white head. Aroma is moderate malty, roasted, caramel, raspberry soft drinks, moderate yeasty, soap, cola. Flavor is moderate sweet with a average to long duration. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft. (110708) Maria (6056), Thisted, Denmark Jul 16, 2008 Courtesy of Fonefan. Dark brown with a red hue and an OK head. The aroma is fruity, but in an artificial way like in a soda. The same goes for the flavour, that reminds me of a beer mixed with raspberry soda. It’s not a fruit beer, so I think it’s a bit weird...
