Had all the Griesbräu beers and this was by far the best. A wonderful dunkel with great malt character, rich creamy head and wonderful malt aroma. When I first smelled this I thought "if this tastes like it smells, we have a winner". And it does! joss (3144), Garching b. München, Germany Jun 28, 2007 Growler. Toasted, light nutty aroma. Red, golden brown creamy head. Medium to full body, bready base, light roast, fruit notes, nicely balanced. Mellow creamy mothfeel. nutty, light smoky retronasal. FatPhil (2365), Espoo, Finland May 12, 2007 1L bottle (One Pint, Helsinki, German beer week 2006). Rich flavour - fruity and bready - but dominated by sourness. Not a light fresh sourness, but a thick and sticky type. Probably good with cheese. Tranquillity (1074), Espoo, Finland Oct 28, 2006 Bottle @ the German beer festival, One Pint, Helsinki. Great 1 litre bottle. Quite sweet aroma, some sour notes. I got to think of...puke. Quite shallow dark looks. Wonderful taste though. Orange in the start, cucumber in the finish! sayravai (3186), Helsinki, Finland Oct 16, 2006 (Bottled) Very hazy, dark reddish brown color with a very small head. Very mild aroma with dark fruit hints and slight smoky-salty-sour hints. Mildly roasty, malty and fruity flavor with some smokiness and lots of salt in the finish. Medium-bodied, smooth-carbonated, slicky palate. A sourish, not very clean, but reasonably enjoyable brew.
