| 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Dec 6, 2007 Pours a light gold with a fair amount of carbonation, and a foamy head that fainly dissipates. Smells of a bouquet of flowery hops. Flavor is balanced between hops and malt, and finishes clean. This is an all malt beer, no adjuncts, and has more gusto than any other German Pilsener in St. Louis. Way to bring back a legendary beer brand to St. Louis! sethdude (603), St. Louis, Missouri, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | May 3, 2009 Pours light gold with a medium head and medium lacing. Aroma is honey sweet malts, hop pepper. Flavor is much better than expected, finely balanced malt meets good dry hop right in the center of the flavor profile, absolutely no off notes in a medium body. Crisp, refreshing, and well done. There are not enough breweries doing these lighter lagers this well anymore. A very well made example of the style, and highly underrated here. Ibrew2or3 (2766), Safety Harbor, Florida, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Jan 18, 2009 Bottle courtesy of sebletitje. Pours straw gold with micro thin off white head. The aroma is grainy malts, sweet malts and vague hops that hint toward citrus. The taste starts with a nice hoppiness moving into grainy malts and sweet malts. The mix of varied malt notes and hops makes for a very pleasing Pilsner. wxman (587), O’Fallon, Illinois, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | May 29, 2009 I have to agree with a previous rater. This brew is under-rated. We need to remember to rate against others of the same style and not prejudice against styles that are not our favorites. Sampled 2 years ago at a small pub in St. Louis, I found this to be a noteworthy domestic pils in the company of Victory and Stoudt. On draft, it pours a plae bright golden with a robust white head that diminishes some but continues to ring the glass as you consume. Crisp, clean taste of pale malt sweetness and a light hop bitterness. Some grassiness as well. This is a delicious summer thirstquencher true to the style as originally intended in the 19th Century.

| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Feb 10, 2009 Hazy straw-yellow body, thin off-white head. Grassy, lemony nose, soapy and herbal. The body has firm bite, with grassy hops and lemony citrus. Bitter, herbal finish. Surprisingly refreshing on winter’s warmest day. Cornfield (4952), Oak Forest, Illinois, USA
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Feb 27, 2009 Rating from a bottle supplied by dm9831, carefully poured into my Choc Beer glass - It has a clear golden body with a modest white head and spotty lacing. The aroma is bready with some corn and honey topped off by grassy and zest hop scents. The flavor follows suit but is crying out for some more hops to truly raise it to the Pilsener level. All in all, though, a pretty sessionable lager. bhensonb (4336), Woodland, California, USA
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 4/5 | 5/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Sep 14, 2008 Bottle from Friar Tuck in St. Louis. Golden color with a large finely bubbled head. Lots of grassy hop in the aroma, with perhaps some light bread beneath. Body is medium; carboation is frothy. Flavor is nicely grassy bitter, with some malt - hops 1, malt less than 1. It has a nice clean bitter finish. Does somewhat resemble a Bohemian product. Quite like the ending. thegreenrooster (1841), St.louis, Missouri, USA
| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Jul 7, 2007 Found a six pack of bottles of this at a local liquor store. Pour is a bright yellow with a foamy white head. Aroma is distant but some slight sweet malts. Flavor is better. Some crisp hop along with a decent amount of bready malts. It a decent simple, easy going pils.
