lilannie (380), State College, Pennsylvania, USA Jun 29, 2008 Aroma: fruit, apples, pears, pineapple, yeast, malt
Appearance: murky yellow, white head, lacing
Flavor: yeasty, malty, some earthiness, some fruit, some biscuits, raw dough flavor acrdz (4248), Pennsylvania, USA Jun 5, 2008 Bottle at the brewery in Giesfeld. Proper hazy yellow with white head. Beautiful nose of citrus zest and wheat and perfumed clove. Awesome smelling yeast character, refreshing, crisp and delicious. A great combination of crisp, tart, toasty and fresh, and one of the better wheat beers I’ve had. voota (754), Melbourne, Australia Jul 30, 2007 On tap at the brewpub. Hazy golden with a creamy white head. Light mango and wheat in the aroma. Perhaps lychee too, weird but good. Light body with loads of tropical flavours, coconut and mint or something too. This one is straight out of left field, but it works pretty well, especially accompanied by plum-smoked beef and homemade cheese. pivnizub (3770), Porúří, Germany Jul 2, 2007 Bottle (purchased at the brasserie): Golden, hazy, small head with a little lace; hayish-hoppy (!) and lemony nose; light to medium bodied, sweet-bitter flavour, almost a bit dryish, soft MF; short, lemony finish with a discreet sweetness. O.K., a decent Weizen from a first-class franconian Lager brewer.......... rauchbier (2870), Isle Of Beer, Lincolnshire, England Dec 18, 2006 Bottle, at Café Abseits in Bamberg, October 2006. Hazy deep gold, thin lasting white head and low condition. Gentle sweet malt, faint banana and citrus in the nose, soft chalky sweetness and muted banana esters in the mouth and a dry bitter yeasty finish with some citric sweetness.
