Served in trappist glass- poured transparent golden, whisps of white globs on top of the surface for a head that showed some lacing, very little carbonation. Aroma of ripe fruit, yeast, and a few hops. Hits the mouth with a medium body, malt tastes very light but is enjoyable, fruit sensations come in the middle, finish is surprisingly crisp. Really enjoyed this one! Damico (178), Norristown, Pennsylvania, USA

It had a beautiful rich yelllow color and was very easy on the palate. I contributed this case to my last exchange. iammarc (193), Inverness, Scotland

Pours an amber color with a good supply of white, fizzy head. Definite aroma of yeast on the nose. That seems to be the overpowering element altough I notice a little bit of overripe fruit and also alcohol. Taste has a little bit of fruit in it and alcohol. This has a little punch to it. When I drink these Abbey Ales with recipes dating back to the 12th-13th Centuries, I can’t help but to wonder if the Templar Knights or the Crusaders drank something similar when they were reaking havoc all over Europe. | 2.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 3/10 | 4/5 | 4/10 | 3/5 | 8/20 | Jul 28, 2008 Golden with white head. Aroma: Lots of hops, very fruity with hints of citrus , very sweet (very Belgian). Even though it was a quite sunny day, I think it works better on an even sunnier day. I prefer Grimbergen dubbel to this one. BoBoChamp (1390), Gent, Belgium
