Aroma of sour apple and hints of malt. Flavor is a bit sour and bitter but lacks definition. Medium carbonation, long bitter finish. I’m not impressed, expected more. | 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Aug 31, 2009 Bottle courtesy of and shared with ogivlado (thanks!) Poured a brown-red body with a medium slightly off white head that went away somewhat slowly. Strong sweet malty nose, some candied orange and spice. The taste is smooth, sweet maltiness, slightly spicey, light bubblegum near the end. Not bad but slightly stale in some way. weaselkenievil (738), Cheshire, England
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Aug 28, 2009 Some of the standard Grim’s are ok but the Optimo Bruno was fucking foul. This was cheap so I took a tentative sip and it tasted like a passable Belgian ale. Nothing impressive. Got an obvious sweetness, caramel malts, little fruit.
