Poured a translucent golden/amber color...some tiny particles in suspension... off-white head left behind a thin film of micro-bubbles and some larger, coarser bubbles. Aroma of fresh fruits (apples, pears, peaches), sweet malts, dark candi sugar. Flavors of dried plums, raisins, cherries... fresh apples and pears. Sweet malty base--heavy presence of candi sugar. A very slight touch of hops/bitterness at the finish, drying things up nicely. Really good stuff--can’t wait to try the other offerings from Grimbergen.

Devilishly red tulip crowned with dirty suds. A waft of clove and tangerine. Caramel, oranges and a tangy punch of alcohol. Sweet, fruity, thick and sticky. But doesn’t hold a candle to either the Tripel or Optimo Bruno. Not as cool a name either.

Effervescent light copper pour showcasing a generous whipped cream of a off-white head that lasts. Rather phenolic nose shows soft clove flavors along with muted old apples, mangos and peaches notes. Spicy yeast profile grows some peppery character. Develops a mustiness that vaguely evoke of an oxydation beginning. Active and fitting carbonation, medium body. Unpretentious belgian.

Musty caramel and muted spices along with some alcohol in the aroma. Hazy amber-gold body is topped by a decent, fine bubbled, off white head that lasts and laces. Very fruity flavour has a fair amount of cabbagey DMS and some doughy yeast. Medium body is fairly dry with soft but lively carbonation. Bottle (Bièropholie, Jun-05) sampled with MartinT, muzzlehatch and Rastacouere.
