| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Aug 19, 2005 (Bottled) Clear, deep, reddish amber color with a small, lacy and tanned head. Very mild, slightly tart and nutty-woody aroma with a hint of cherry. Sweetish-malty, slightly roasty, tart and vinous flavor with lots of caramel. Alcohol comes up strongly in the finish. Seems to get quite a bit sweeter as it warms up. Medium-bodied, a bit thin, empty and metallic palate with quite low carbonation. I can’t recall another dark belgian strong ale that says "serve chilled" in the label. Something between biere de garde, flemish sour ale, vienna and european strong lager. Not something I’d buy again. bmxutos (161), Lisboa, Portugal

Nice malty aroma with hints of alcohol. Strong flavour, a little metalic but overall good. Not my favorite belgian strong ale but nevertheless a good one. veronika (410), Sweden
