| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Feb 15, 2008 The beer pours reddish amber with a lasting off-white head. In the nose it is dominated by bread and caramel with hints of sugar, and a mild spice(cinnamon?) in the background. Upon tasting it starts bready with a big stroke of caramel, moderate sweetness, medium mouthfeel and a lively but not overwhelming carbonation. After the swallow, the caramel is joined by a licorice element, lingering in the back of the mouth. A very well balanced beer and with a nice vibrant finish. kappldav123 (1882), Markkleeberg, Germany
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Feb 9, 2008 The bottle looks really good, the beer in the glass also. Very fine foam. The beer tastes really strong, modest dry, not bitter, a little bit sweet. Very drinkable for its strength. Really good beer. BelgianBeerGal (1313), Sabbatical in Las Vegas, Nevada, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Feb 3, 2008 33cL bottle. This is my favorite of the Grimbergen family. Deep amber color with a good mouthfeel and warming, slightly sweet flavor. Fair lacing and nice head that disappeared fairly quickly. yespr (12407), Copenhagen O, Denmark
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Jan 31, 2008 33 cL bottle. Pours slight hazy amber with a light off-white head. Mild fruity, light spiced and caramel aroma. Flavour holds a light fruity note to a malty base, towards dark. Lingering fruity and yeasty finish. davidpl (435), Santiago, Chile
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Jan 27, 2008 Appearance: cooper color. Great head, beige, some rocky and lasting.
Aroma: caramel malts and yeast’s smells. Toffee, vanilla, butter, cream and truffle’s aromatic reminiscences. Liquory smells similar to old run.
Flavor: caramel and semi-toast malts start and progress of yeast. Fruitiness like orange and peaches in liquor. Taste reminiscences of vanilla and some clove. Warming final with liquory like old run.
Palate: medium body and carbonation.
Nice, but I waited more complexity. Maria (6318), Thisted, Denmark
| 2.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 8/20 | Jan 1, 2008 Nice but qickly disappearing head - color reddish brown. The first impression is sweet/sour, and the a grapefruit acidity attacks my tongue and almost invades it. Just like in Grimbergen Blonde it subdues everything else, and I only get weak hints of malt. The acidity is too dominating IMO. KnutAlbert (3217), Oslo, Norway

Nice, sweet and malty, a little sourness, some burned sugar. Quite all right.
