Pours clear dark brown with a large creamy off-white head. Aroma is moderatly malty of dark bread, roasted malts and carmel lightly hoppy and heavily yeasty of leather, earth, prunes, dates and grapes. Flavor has a great balance heavy carmel and burnt fruit notes, finish has some spicy notes and balanced twords the sweet side and dark fruit. medium bodied, creamy and very carbonated. nice

Draught. Aroma is sweet and fruity, of plums, grapes/raisin light malt, and caramel. Observed under dim lighting seemed a deep plumb/red color. Almost no head. Very smooth and light despite the carmel/malty flavour and medium texture. Predominately sweet and would be a nice desert in itself.

This beer pours a deep copper colour- deep yet somewhat clear. Head is medium sized, beige colour. Aroma is very pleasent, and fruity- taste is rich in fruit as well- plums, ripe black cherry and macintosh apples. excellent flavor, very smooth.

12oz bottle. Nose is promising with a nice chocolate toffee aroma with some yeast. Nice dark mahogany color with a good sized beige head. Taste is alot of brown and candi sugar with some light caramel and a off putting metallic aftertaste. A bit to heavy on the carbonation. Long yeasty finish with some nice nutty notes. Not bad but not great either. If it were not for the metallic taste this would have scored a 3.8 or so.

This used to be one of my favourites, until I discovered there are more beers than the ones you can buy in the supermarket. Dark brown/red colour, off white head. Looks great in its glass! Aroma of brown sugar, caramel, some fruits. Taste is mainly caramel and brown sugar, slightly metallic, a little sourish aftertaste, some alcohol Sweetness becomes cloying after a while, there’s just too much of it.

Bottle. Not a great dubbel for me. Toffee, brown sugar, sweetness up to the knackers. Too much sweet for me to like. Not awful, it’s drinkable but I would not buy this when I can get much better dubbels.
