This beer is vastly underrated. A notch below the Trappist beers, but definitely an outstanding Belgian dubbel.

Pours a clear deep cherry reddish-brown with a large foamy cream colored head. Strong malty notes in the nose with toffee and candy. Lively malty body with a good dose of hoppy bitterness followed by some toffee. Thin finish, but warming.

More potent in aroma and flavor than the Blonde. Aroma and flavors are of a belgian candy sweetness (close to toffee). Good warming finish.

Small bottle purchased at BOTW and consumed right away. Dark garnet red color with a thin head of white film, spotted with heavier spots of white cream. Aroma is rich, sweet, toffee. Flavors are similar. Pretty nice stuff. I’m impressed by the brewer. Clean and easy to drink.

The bottle looks really good, the beer in the glass also. Creamy foam. Tastes delicious. Strong, a little bit alcoholic, very drinkable. Good beer!

Bottle from quagmite.I actually liked this beer more than I thought I would. I’m not the biggest fan of the Belgian style but this came in a trade. Pleasantly surprised. Beautiful dark reddish murky brown pour with a nice head and good lacing. Smells of dark fruit and brown sugar and the same elements come out in the taste as well. This is actually pretty good. I don’t enjoy Belgians very much but this is good. Don’t know that it belongs with some of the others that I’ve tried like Rochefort 10, De Dolle Stille Nicht or Chimay Blue but it is a good beer and I enjoyed it. Thanks to quagmite for the bottle!

Pours a murky brown color with a quick inch of fluffy white in the trappist glass. The scent was of figs, malt, brown sugar and yeast. Sweet, cloying flavor with some toffee and brown sugar taste. A sweet, malty finish leaves a lingering chocolate flavor on the palate. A nice, drinkable dubbel.

Soft aroma and dark golden colour with soft and bitter foam. Sweet fruit flavor with a sad metallic palate. Good beer but you better not finish your drink with it.
