| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Jan 6, 2008 Nice brown color with a medium but stable beige head. The flavour is creamy caramell and sweetish with moderated hop and carbonation. You can feel a little alcoholic taste at the dry finish. MattShizzle (385), Bernville, Pennsylvania, USA

| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Jan 1, 2008 It’s a dark brown beer with a very nice and lasting head. The flavour is sweetish with notes of fruit (plum, raisin), caramel and a moderate bitterness in the long finish, where the grapefruit acidity, that I find in the Grimbergens, com in. But in this one it’s in a nice way, and as such this is the Grimbergen, that I like the best. downender (2634), Bristol, Gloucestershire, England
| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Dec 29, 2007 330ml bottle. Dark brown with a decent off-white head. Aroma of sweet malt, dark fruit and molasses. Flavour was sweet and yeasty with plenty of candy sugar and a slightly dry finish. Ok, but a bit dull. Gregis (1135), Shawnee, Kansas, USA
| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | Dec 23, 2007 Pours a deep burgundy brown with a creamy, beige head that diminishes leaving wispy lace in its wake. Raisins, toffee and dry red wine all come out in the aroma. Medium-bodied and creamy with a metallic and lightly astringent finish. Falling short of the nose, the flavor is of raisin and light toffee with a fruity, astringent finish. This bottle might have been oxidized a bit as it has a hint of dry cardboard and odd fruity notes that seem slightly out of place. The brewers website provides no clue as to the age of the bottle (Code: 1306NL1645B). So, I guess I’ll just have to re-rate this one at a later date, but given how unimpressed I was with this bottle, it’ll probably be quite some time before I revisit this beer. | 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Dec 22, 2007 Nose of brown sugar, rainsins, dark rum. A soft nuttiness and slight metallic finish. Nothing too special but nothing too crappy either. A good middle of the road dubbel. elelwarren (138), SF Bay area, California, USA
| 2.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | Dec 22, 2007 Solstice party in Canyon, CA. Deep brown with medium head. Scent of Thompson raisins. Taste is sweet and sour, but shallow and not long lasting. No yeastiness whatsoever. I liked it less and less as I drank the glass.
