Draft @ Waterzooi Belgian Bistro in Garden City, Long Island. Pours dark amber with a half finger tan head. Nose consists of sweet malts. Taste was sweet, a sort of boozy even though its got a low abv. Ok beer not great.

White head. Good lacing. Clear, sparkling body. Dark brown color. Major aromas and flavors include black pepper, caramel, hay, light citrus. Primary flavor is the pepper. Sweet-to-dry finish that has a long duration. Good.

This is a good Dubbel. Sour notes throughout enhance the malt, and there is a hint of alcohol -- brandy I guess -- in the finish. Improved with some warming -- it was damn cold from the tap.

Looks beautiful in the glass, with rich crystalline red color and a nice head. Not much aroma. A good amount of nice dried fruit notes, with more of a brandy-ish quality coming through as I got further into the glass. More dried fruit in the finish, particularly some cherry and prune notes. I would’ve guessed this had more alcohol. Surprisingly clean finish for such a sweet beer, but still a little cloying by the end of the glass. Still, overall an above-average dubbel.

A deep rich amber color, like a dark brandy with a wispy head. Crisp clean taste with a slightly sweet finish.

Bottle. Brown and cloudy. Caramel and very yeasty with some nice dried fruit in there also, but the yeast is a bit much. It is not fantastic.

30cl bottle. Pours dark amber with a thin white head. Very floral aroma with notes of fruit. Sweet taste with no bitterness and a slight flavor of alcohol. Overall a very nice beer though a little sweet for my taste.
