Oct 16, 2007 Bottle. Pours clear dark amber with a thick and substantial off-white head. Sweet plum and brown sugar nose with a touch of spice almost as an afterthought. Medium body and fine carbonation. Sweet taste, of raisins marinated in alcohol. I’m not tuning in to the chocolate. Dry spicy finish.

Oct 14, 2007 11.2 ruby brown color pours clean with an off-white head. not a particularly good looking one at that. nose is quite tart and fruity, almost sour even. slightly grapey, with raspberry tones. clean and fruity with a solid caramel middle. carbonation is a bit prickly. a good starter belgian, not very complex or exciting.

Oct 10, 2007 Draft at Eulogy. What better place to have a belgian, but in a Belgian bar. Pours a dark brown in color with a cloudy white head. The aromas are amazing with a mix of fruit, chocolate, and hop. On tasting, the flavors go through many levels from fruity maltiness to a sweet chocolate, finishing with a warm brandy-like note. The mouthfeel is creamy and full. An amazing Dubbel.

Oct 10, 2007 Bottle @ Lowlander. Pours dark brown with foamy beige head. Aroma is earthy / malty / plums. Taste is creamy with some alcohol / dark fruits. Very drinkable.

Oct 8, 2007 Deep dark coloured body with a very thin off-white head. Aroma of roasted malt and a bit of sweetness with not much else. Light -bodied; Sweet flavours up front with pit fruits and a good dose of malt and yeast follow behind. Aftertaste shows more of the same, not much malt and even less sweetness. Overall, a fairly bland and tasteless double, with less-than-desireable flavours. I sampled this 33 cL bottle purchased from Joe’s Place in Oklahoma City (Norman), Oklahoma on 07-October-2007.

Oct 8, 2007 Dark brown with medium head. Sweet malty aroma with plums. Again very sweet flavor that lacks complexity.
